Charity cleft surgery in Myanmar
Each year, Dr Bart van de Ven visits Myanmar with a team of surgeons and medical professionals to perform cleft surgeries on children of poor families, for free.
The mission is clear: giving a smile to these children that otherwise will forever have trouble speaking or eating. And not only will they suffer from these restrictions physically, but also mentally. Since children with this birth defect will often be shunned from society in developing countries like this one.
This year Dr Bart went to Myanmar in October 2018, happy to be performing surgeries even on his birthday!
